TTB aka The Trinity Band is essentially a five piece Urban Band, they came together through a mutual respect for each others talents and a desire to make exceptional music that crosses genres, boundaries and brings audiences together. They Formed in 2006 initially as a hobby and by 2010 had created a sound that was so unique and infectious it had to be taken seriously.
The upbeat, catchy TTB track Skank (Out my Crew) has been playlisted on 1Xtra (from 12/03/12) as part of the BBC Introducing tune of the week.
'Skank (Out my Crew)', is one of the standout tracks from TTB’s first EP ‘It’s a Trinity Ting’. Undoubtedly a future anthem and an ‘Ode’ to all skankers/dancers to hit the dance floor. The live instrumentation, smooth vocals and raw ‘Ragga’ style delivery is a brilliant example of quality live music, in today’s market of ‘computer’ generated beats. The track is very catchy and guaranteed to get you ‘shaking a leg’ and will keep you humming long after the track has finished. You can hear the track on the following shows:

I'm not being mean..just saying..there's still hope for me as a singer!!! I do actually like Cassie. Although to be fair I feel career has been pushed forward based on her looks. Wrong or not that's how I feel.
Anyhoo back to the track.. I cant make up my mind, mainly because its so 'Superbass-esque' But then again there are so many songs out there that sound like other songs and I still love them (often the second song more than the original) Take Breezy's Deuces for example many would say that it is a better version of RiRi's Te Amo and i would agree. It didn't stop me from loving that song. I think the problem is that its NOT better than Super bass. After hearing the song went on YouTube so I could post the Video in this blog..and surprise surprise I'm not the only one that noticed the similarities..

I Still haven't had a chance to check out Watch the Throne (Jay Z & Kanyes New Collaborative Album).I suppose if I'm honest with myself- I'm dragging my heels because I don't want to be disappointed. You know when something gets sooo much hype and you really really look forward to it? Only to get it and think oh 'its ok' at best or really rubbish at worst?? You know what I mean lol
Well I don't know if I'm ready to be disappointed just yet haha.. judging by the tweets and facebook comments I've seen so far people are actually liking it. We all know Jay is a prolific writer (as is Mr West) and I'm assuming it will be jam packed with Kanye productions, I'm hoping that there are a few off the wall and never done before tracks, and some songs for reflection. I'd like a mix of party tracks and real raw hip hop. As I said I haven't heard it yet and my expectations are extremely high!! If this song (and Otis of course) is anything like what I've got to look forward to then i shouldn't really be too concerned. I just don't want it to all sound the same. Don't worry though I will let y'all know EXACTLY what I think of it. in the meantime enjoy this:

Loving J Coles Versatility. Every time I see a new track from him I have to check it out! purely to see what he has done this time.This is a definite one for the ladies, His flow is immaculate as usual and he's even singing, had to share coz I love it. It's just a simple non assuming song but makes you feel good! sometimes the simplest music is the best music.

FRANK OCEAN - NOVCANE OFFICIAL VIDEO!!!
Back with ANOTHER Frank Ocean Vid lol.But this is CREATIVE!!! you feel like you are actually experiencing his high just by watching the video.
Its based in one room, no particular story line but it works. It takes you into a place where the artist and or director obviously wants you to go.
There are some very random moments in the vid but that only adds to the overall trippy feel, which in essence encapsulates the whole song. Lots of morphing and translucent almost there images, that you might miss if you blink for a second. I haven't analysed it on a metaphorical or symbolic level (yet) lol. But if you just take it for what it is, I think you can appreciate that its a good video, a good video that matches the song. It made me laugh and also gasp in places.
I cant stress enough how much of a genius I feel this man is. Only parts I don't like are when his face is wobbling and morphing for some reason its a bit disturbing to me. I still do not know what he was putting on his face or why..but that's 'our' Frank.. watch out for the bitch slap (cracks me up).
"I feel like Stanley Kubric, this is some visionary sh** been trynna feel pleasure with my eyes wide shut..." Genius!!!

So!!! I absolutely LOVE Mr Ocean!!! I've been jamming to his Mixtape for a while now and if you haven'y got it I highly recommend it.
There's no one I can really compare him to, he's on of a kind, and makes honest heartfelt 'proper grown up' music! All with a touch of humour or truth where needed.
Its really not everyone's cup of tea but Franks doing it for me.

But one of the stand out tracks (aside from Novocane, Songs For Girls and Swim Good) is definitely 'We all Try' I finally caught wind of an official video for it so had to share it with y'all.
In true Frank stylee its not a run of the mill vid. Some of you may find it a little disturbing!!! But I really would expect anything less.

Rihanna Man Down Video
Finally got to see this video just a second ago. As you may have guessed by how many mixtapes I've put the track on over the last few months - I love the song. I've heard a little controversy over the video so again I was curious to see what the fuss about. To be honest it wasn't until the end that it all became clear. But I feel it was done tastefully, and I love the aesthetics of the video. Very well put together. For me it all worked, the song tells part of the story and the video moves that story along. Its a thumbs up all the way for me. Despite knowing what I know about Riri and her alleged affiliations with certain societies etc, she makes good music, just be aware of what you are watching and why certain things are placed in front you. That is all I have to say on the matter!!! Rumpapa pum Rumpapa pum.. Figa It Out.

A man goes to Africa on a safari. While there, he comes upon an elephant in great pain, with a giant thorn in its foot. The man very carefully approaches the elephant, and gingerly removes the thorn from its foot. The elephant begins to walk away, then turns and stares at the man for a full minute, locking eyes with him.The elephant then continues on its way. "I wonder if I ever see that elephant again if it will remember me?" the man muses to himself. It is a few years later, and the man is at a circus back in the States. He notices that one of the elephants keeps looking at him, almost like it KNOWS him. The man wonders, "Could this be that elephant I helped so long ago?" He decides to get a closer look. With the elephant still giving him the staredown, the man moves in closer, getting right up in front of the elephant. They lock eyes. A knowing look seems to cross the elephant's face. It reaches down... picks the man up carefully with its trunk... lifts him high in the air... throws him crashing to the ground and stomps him all over!
Turns out it wasn't that elephant.

Nicola Roberts - Beat Of My Drum
I really wanted to like this, in fact i've looked at it from all angles and tried to be as nice as possible about it as I can.I feel for Nicola in that I believe she gets a hard time from the press and especially the likes of 'Moylesey' who hasn't taken too kindly her. Yes she's ginger and yes she has a quirky feel to her but what's wrong with that? You probably find it a bit strange that I'm even considering this song for review on my blog, but it moved me so much that I had to write about. Unfortunately it didn't move me in a good way. I've never heard any solo material from the 5th 'Girls Aloud' member (I call her the fifth member just because she doesn't really seem to fit in to the band, nothing else!) So when this video popped up its fair to say that I was intrigued, I was secretly hoping I had discovered something that was going to be revolutionary and change mankind for ever. I didn't.
I found it all rather disturbing, I felt hungry just watching Nicola gyrate around in her 70s' esque Y fronts. The styling was lost on me. None of it seemed to make any sense. I am all for being different, and she has already received 335, 044 hits on the day the video is uploaded, so she obviously has some fans. I believe other people were also curious as to what she is going to offer .. and believe it its a Marmite track (3,620 like & 2,088 dislikes) the comments are hilarious!!! anyhoo i digress.. Vocally she doesn't really show us what she can do..but I suppose its a pop song so can we really expect her to be pulling Maria Carey rifts, or Whitney warblers?? No! She can hold a note and that's evident, but that's about it.
The whole song just seems a bit schizophrenic to me, as though they are trying to appeal to everyone, I hear Dubstep influences, pop influences and she clearly likes 'Pon di floor'..its just all a bit much, yet flimsy feeling at the same time. I bet radio will jump on it though, maybe I'm just showing my age on this one but its a definite miss for me.
I will look out for the obligatory remixes and see if any catch my attention, but as I write this, the hook is stuck in my head, and that lets me know that ultimately she has succeeded in witting a pop song (hesitated before deciding against putting 'good pop song') I am going to watch it and see how it does. Again I cant stress that I wish her well as she has had so much grief from the 'industry' but this is song is just not for me.
